Long Term Health Care

Long Term Care Insurance Policies are more popular today than ever before. They are written by various insurance carriers and sold by insurance agents. Some agents will help in the processing of a Long Term Care Policy (L.T.C) claim and some do not. Southwest Health Care Services Inc. will assist in completing the paperwork necessary to initiate the claim if requested.
Policies vary by carrier. Some may have an elimination period; others may not. Generally, they all require a physician's report and plan of care to initiate the claim. If this report is not complete it can be kicked back by the carrier causing a delay in processing. We at Southwest Health Care Services have years of experience in completing these forms, therefore, expediting the reimbursement.

It is important to notify us if you will be utilizing your LTC Policy for payment of care. As with all other insurance, claims notification of the carrier and prior authorization must be obtained before services can be rendered.

Southwest Health Care will accept assignment of benefits for Long Term Care Insurance. We have worked with the following Long Term Care Companies:
    • Conseco Senior Health Insurance Co.
    • Bankers Life & Casualty Co.
    • Pioneer Life Insurance Co.
    • Transamerica LTC Insurance
    • Penn Treaty Network America Insurance Co.
    • Old American Insurance Co.
    • Genworth Financial LTC Division
    • CalPERS - LTC
    • CNA Insurance Co.
    • New York Life - LTC

If you have a policy with another insurance company that is not listed, we will be more than happy to call them to determine your benefit requirement

Veterans Aid
Veterans and their surviving spouses may qualify for Veterans Administration benefits to cover some of the cost of in-home care. A veteran or a surviving spouse of a veteran who served at least 90 days of active duty with one day during a period of war may be eligible for the Veterans Administration's non-service connected disability pension.
