Medicare covers
short-term, physician-prescribed home health care for skilled nursing,
physical, occupational and speech therapy and medical social services,
as well as assistance with bathing, feeding and other personal care
by a home health aide. Medicare does not cover for extended custodial

Medicare provides
for seniors at age 65 and other disabled citizens.

- Hospital insurance
or Medicare Part A (hospital insurance),
which helps pay for care in a hospital and skilled nursing facility,
home health care and hospice care.
- Medical Insurance
or Medicare Part B (medical insurance),
which helps pay for doctors, outpatient hospital care and other medical
services.
- Medical Equipment
can generally be paid for by Medicare if it meets the following requirements.

If you are about
to be discharged from a hospital, a discharge planner will follow
your physician's instructions about your particular equipment needs.
Southwest Health Care Services,
is also able to assist you in this area.

Custodial
Care, unfortunately is not covered by Medicare and is private pay
only. The services needed could vary depending on your physician's
recommendations at discharge from the hospital or skilled nursing
facility. Services 2 hours to a 4 hour to 24 hours a day and/or
a live-in companions are a few of the options available.
